Central station, these are platforms 23 & 24 i believe but were never used

Central Ghost platforms were used for a while as document storage, but these days they just sit there empty. They will never know what it's like to be visited by a train.

Just a correction, these are platforms 26 & 27, located directly above 24 & 25 hence the long escalator ride.

Actually, they're planned to see some trains in the next railway expansion (the CBD rail link)

I've know about these tunnels for a while as you can see the lights when going down the escalators and the doors using the stairway. I once got a fairly good small look using the escalator. Since both ends of the tunnels were never complete... is there another way in?
Wizard  [Oct 18, 2007 at 02:43 AM]
They're the only ways in.
Guest_Sledgy  [Jan 22, 2008 at 03:31 PM]
So you can get to these from 24 & 25?
Guest_Ex-Plora  [Jan 23, 2008 at 04:05 AM]
Are they ever patrolled? And is it noticable trying to get in?
Wizard  [Jan 24, 2008 at 04:30 AM]
I doubt security would just walk in, but these days there's monitored cameras on both the entrances i know of.

it not security you shuld worry about , security maynly do the holding yards (dog not traind to bite an cityrail diretive to snp) its plain clotheved transit officers

Redfern has them too- built with the eastern suburbs expansion
Wizard  [Jul 04, 2008 at 09:11 PM]
The redfern platforms are a bit different. Not actually in tunnels, and construction was stopped at a much earlier stage. See http://www.trainman.id.au/photos/tunnels/ for more details.
